Uncommitted 1996 | Jersey Shore Whalers Goaltender Tim Schiess
The Uncommitted 1996 is a new series of articles focusing on players aging out of Junior Hockey who have yet to commit to a University or advanced to a higher level of hockey for the 2017-18 season.
Tier 3 veteran Goaltender Tim Schiess began his Junior Hockey career in the 2014-15 season with the Jersey Shore Whalers Empire squad. Schiess played the majority of his 2015-16 season with the Lockport Express and returned to the Whalers for his 2016-17 campaign.
The 5'10 200lb New Jersey native earned a 9-4-1 record in his final season with the Whalers. Schiess began the 2016-17 season with a shutout over the Jersey Hitmen, turning away all 31 shots faced in the September 18, 2016 contest. Schiess went on to earn a Tier 3 Junior Hockey top 75 ranked .918 save percent and closed out his junior hockey career with a win in his final game between the pipes on February 4, 2017.
