A Statistical look at the Dells Ducks Junior Hockey Team

Established in 2011, the Dells Ducks played as part of the former Minnesota Junior Hockey League for 4 seasons before joining the USPHL prior to the 2015-16 season.  Through their first 5 seasons the team earned a combined 160-63-11 regular season record (.707) and through their last 3 seasons a combined 111-20-5 record (.834).  Below is a statistical look at the Dells Ducks including where they ranked through the 2015-16 season among all 165 Tier 3 Junior Hockey teams.

Championships - The Dells Ducks earned back to back championships in both their final 2014-15 season in the MnJHL and in 2015-16 through their first season in the USPHL Midwest/USP3HL Division.  Following this Championship season, the Ducks were invited to play in the USPHL Elite Midwest Division for 2016-17.

National Tournament Appearances - The Ducks were finalists in each of the last two USA Junior National Tournaments.  (2013/14 & 2014/15)

Special Teams -  The Ducks earned the 4th best overall special team rating among all 165 Tier 3 Junior Hockey teams this season.  Their 90.4 penalty kill percent ranked 6th and their 26.8 power play percent ranked 7th.  Historically solid in special teams play, the 2013-14 Ducks squad holds a top 5 Tier 3 record with a 32.0% power play.

Goals Allowed - Always a strong defensive team, the Dells Ducks allowed an average of 1.67 goals per games through 48 regular season games this season.  Their 80 goals allowed ranked 5th among all 165 Tier 3 Junior Hockey teams.

Shutouts - The Dells Ducks set a new Tier 3 Junior Hockey record for the most shutouts in a season with 17 during their 2015-16 campaign.  The Ducks have earned 37 regular season shutouts in 5 seasons.

Active Alumni - 62 of the ducks 81 Alumni from their first four seasons were on active rosters in the 2015-16 season. 
  • 76% of all former players are still playing organized hockey.
  • 43 on NCAA & ACHA college rosters
  • 11 on other US Junior / Canadian Junior A teams.  Including both the USHL and the NAHL
  • 7 in Canadian Universities and European Minor Leagues
  • 1 in the FHL, a US Minor Professional League (Port Huron Prowlers who won the 2016 FHL Commissioners Cup in 2016)
  • 7 1995's from the 2015-16 season have committed to play college hockey at both NCAA & ACHA Universities.  (View Commitments list)
