North Iowa Bulls Continue on a 27 Game Win Streak - Closing in on Tier 3 Record
January 10, 2016
The North Iowa Bulls win streak extends to 27 games after a 2 game sweep of the Minnesota Flying Aces this weekend. A streak that began on September 25th in the teams third game on the season.
Through the streak the Bulls are averaging 6.6 goals per game, logged 7 shutouts, never scored less than 3 goals in a game, while earning 3 double digits games including 16 goals scored on September 25th, tying for 3rd in most goals scored by a Tier 3 team this season.
North Iowa is closing in on the current Tier 3 record for longest win streak of 34 games set through the 2014-15 season by the Jersey Shore Wildcats. Should the Bulls streak continue, the team would tie the Wildcats record on February 5th at home against the Twin City Steel and surpass the record with a win against the Steel on the road on February 6th. Before we get to that, the Bulls have to get through 2 games series with each of the Breezy Point North Stars (15-10-5) , the La Crosse Freeze (20-8-0) and the NA3HL West Division Leading Granite City Lumberjacks.
The Bulls currently hold 2nd place in the Tier 3 Record for longest win streak, with 7 games to go if they're going to move into 1st.. Next up: Breezy Point North Stars on the Bulls home ice January 15th and 16th.
