February 13, 2016
Justin Abdelhak Earns 27th Win. Cracking Tier 3 Top 5 Win Record.
The current Tier 3 Junior Hockey record for wins by a goalie in a regular season of 29 games was set by both Matt Grove of the Granite City Lumberjacks through the 2011-12 season and Jake Carter of the Florida Jr Blades during the 2014-15 season. With 4 games left in the 2015-16 regular season, Traverse City Hounds Goaltender Justin Abdelhak holds a 27-7-1 record and finds himself tied for 5th in wins.
Abdelhak's 27th win came on February 12, 2016 as the Traverse City Hounds defeated the Motor City Hawks 4-3 in OT. Currently on an 11 game win streak, the 6'0 165lb Michigan native has lost only one game since the Winter Break. With 4 shutouts on the season, Abdelhak retains a 2.56 gaa and a .923 save percent and his 1052 saves on the season lands him among the top 10 of all goalies in tier 3.
The Traverse City Hounds face the Motor City Hawks again tonight in game 2 of a two game series.
