Uncommitted 1996 | Atlanta Jr Knights D, Ian Rush
The Uncommitted 1996 series continues, focusing on players aging out of Junior Hockey who have yet to commit to a University or advanced to a higher level of hockey for the 2017-18 season.
Tier 3 veteran Defenseman Ian Rush began his Junior Hockey career with the Potomac Patriots during his 2013-14 campaign and remained with the Patriots for 3 seasons before joining the Atlanta Jr Knights for the 2016-17 season. The move to the Knights proved successful for Rush as he produced, statistically, his best season to date, registering 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points through 44 regular season games.
At 6'3 215lbs, Rush defended the blue line for a Knights squad that ranked top 50 among 162 Tier 3 Junior Hockey teams to compete this season in goals allowed.
The Virginia native began the season with 2 assists in game 1 and went on to register a point in 7 of his first 8 games for the Knights. With 10 multi point efforts and a season high 4 points on January 28, 2017, Rush contributed to 18% of the Knights overall season goals.
