Blair Sanders Commits to St Mary's University
Tier 3 Saves Leader Makes NCAA Commitment
No other goaltender in all Tier 3 Junior Hockey faced more shots or played more minutes in the 2015-16 season than Blaine Energy veteran Blair Sanders. With 2246 shots faced in 2240 minutes between the pipes, Sanders faced just over a shot per minute while retaining a .892 save percent. Sanders finished the season with 2003 saves, which led all Tier 3 goaltenders and set a single game record for most saves with 92 on January 30, 2016.
The 5'9 160lb Missouri native made his 2016-17 college commitment to St Mary's University, NCAA D3. Sanders is the 4th Tier 3 commitment to St. Mary's this season including Justin Edwards of the LaCrosse Freeze, Kyle Meeh of the St Louis Jr Blues via the Springfield Jr Blues and Jack Stang of the North Iowa Bulls. The 2015-16 Cardinals squad rostered ten former Tier 3 Junior Hockey players and finished the season with a 9-14-2 regular season record, 6th in the MIAC.
